| Why a
Grease Trap Waste water discharged from kitchen sinks in homes, restraunts, hotels, institutions and wherever food is prepared and served contains a certain amount of grease. Unless this grease is seperated from the water before it enters the drainage system, layer upon layer of grease is deposited on the inside of the pipes until complete stoppage occurs. This could result in tearing up floors and breaking open pipes to free the lines. This high cost of constant maintenance can be obviated by the installation of an adequately sized interceptor. Not only does greasy waste water clog waste lines with resultant inconveinence and costly damage, it also hinders bacterial action in septic tanks and sewage disposal plants to the extent that they become ineffective. Futhermore, the dishcarge of grease laden wastes into lakes, rivers, and streams causes serious pollution problems. Basic Principle The Wade grease interceptor is a highly effcient method of seperating grease from water. During several years of experimentation of liquids was tested with many baffle variations. The arrangement used in Wade interceptors was found to produce the most effcient seperation of grease and oils and at the same time be easily serviceable.  Grease laden water passes over a series of baffles which seperate greases, fats and oils from the waste water. Once released, these contaminants rise to the tope of the interceptor by natural flotation and are accumulated until removed. The waste water, now relieved of over 90% of the contaminant oils and grease, continues to flow through the interceptor into the sanitary system.
