TAG . . . You’re it!
August 4, 2014
The Tyler Pipe TAG’ed Program (Targeted to receive Appreciation Gift) is a program that recognizes team members that demonstrate outstanding performance and/or contributions in the areas of safety, environmental protection, production or other events recognized as exceptional while performing the normal functions of their daily activities at Tyler Pipe. Recipients of a TAG’ed certificate can take them to Human Resources and get really cool Tyler Pipe merchandise like hats, shirts, or duffel bags.
In January of this year, Patrick Starkey, VP of Sales & Marketing added a new incentive to the program. To further show their appreciation to team members, he suggested that a drawing be held every quarter to select one lucky winner to receive a $250.00 Visa Gift Card. The winner of the 2nd quarter drawing was Evelia Lara. Evelia has worked for Tyler Pipe for 26 years now so she knows her way around the plant. On Friday, April 11, the Mill Room was busy as usual and the fork truck driver called in sick leaving them in a bind. Evelia, who is an experienced fork truck driver, offered to do her job as well as run the fork truck.
Brent said, “It’s more than simply running a fork truck, fittings have to be weighted coming in and out of the Mill Room and Evelia knows exactly what to do.”
Evelia’s name was drawn and rightfully so. If you see Evelia, she is always hard at work and is quick with a smile and a wave. Congratulations Evelia, and thanks for going above and beyond!
