EHS Steering Committee Works to Implement Strategic Plan to take EHS Performance to Next Level
November 16, 2015
On November 11, 2015 the EHS Steering Committee met at Tyler Pipe to hold their quarterly meeting and tour the facility. As you may recall, the Steering Committee is composed of a cross-section of Operations personnel from each of the company’s business groups, as well as Corporate functions.
On the agenda for this meeting, were updates from the Acquisition Integration, Electronic Systems, and EHS Data Integrated Projects teams as well reviews of the McWane ErgoCup Competition and Pollution Prevention Challenge. The committee also discussed the status of Supervisor Focus Groups which are being conducted at five facilities. These focus groups are a follow-up to the results of the National Safety Council’s culture surveys and are designed to identify specific concerns of front-line supervisors which may impede them from doing their best job possible.
The committee’s next meeting is scheduled for February in Birmingham where updates on the culture initiatives and activities at our facilities will be further discussed.
